What You Should Know About Mold
The presence of mold can be found indoors and outdoors. The problem with mold begins when the level of mold inside is greater than the levels of mold outdoors.
The most common form of mold associated with water damage is Aspergillus/Penicullium. This mold can grow on materials, such as fiberboard, gypsum board, paper, dust, and lint. Mold growing in homes and buildings, whether "black" mold or other molds, indicates there is a problem with moisture or water.
Growth occurs when there is moisture from water damage, excessive humidity, water leaks, condensation, water infiltration, or flooding. Constant moisture is required for its growth, causing mold to start growing in less than 48 hours of moisture or exposure. Evidence of growth can usually be seen (discoloration) or smelled (damp, musty odor).
If you see or suspect mold growth, contact Jarvis Property Restoration. It is important to properly clean and dry the suspicious areas, as well as obtaining a proper protocol to handle a mold situation. Jarvis is a professional company with decades of experience in residential and commercial mold remediation.
What to Expect from Jarvis Mold Remediation Services
When you call Jarvis Property Restoration to assess your mold situation, a certified technician will be dispatched to inspect your property.
At the time of your property inspection, Jarvis will determine the degree of contamination. Depending on the degree, Jarvis may recommend a microbiological testing of the area to determine the severity of the mold situation and plan the best course of action. Once a protocol is put into place, Jarvis will coordinate the necessary repairs, water extraction, structural drying, removal, disposal, and remediation of the mold and the affected areas or property.
In the event of large-scale mold growth issues, Jarvis may recommend that a property owner obtain an Indoor Quality (IAQ) test before work is begun- for the health and safety of the residents. This report, among other things, identifies the areas of concern, potential causes or sources of the mold, and provides a roadmap to complete a professional mold remediation and cleanup of the areas.
