Jarvis employs specialty equipment that helps determine moisture levels and water damage in assessing a strategy to restore a property that has suffered from water damage. Determining the class of water in an important first step, and will be critical in deploying the type of equipment necessary to dry down a structure.
Water damage is broken into four classes
Class 1 – Typically a small area is effected and there is little or no wet carpeting. Minimum moisture has been absorbed in the materials and there is usually a quick drying time.
Class 2 – Generally this involves an entire space, or room, flooded with wicking less than twenty four inches.
Class 3 – Larger scale water damage, usually flooding that originates from overhead and saturates ceilings, walls, carpet, cushion and subfloors and has the potential to rise above two feet from the foundation. This requires a high level of extraction
Class 4 – This refers to unique materials that require specialty drying techniques, such as a hardwood or brick floor. Specialty drying equipment is required such as injectidry or desiccant humidifiers.
