Mold is a fungus that causes organic matter to decay. It is a growth of mold on the surface of something, or the discoloration caused by the growth of mold. Mold thrives in moist or humid conditions.  Mold thrives on many types of building materials such as cellulose which is contained in drywall, wood, etc.  Some of the outward signs of mold are musty odors and discoloration.  Mold can start to grow in less than 48 hours.

It is important to note that mold is both outdoor and indoor. The true test is to have no greater level of mold inside the structure than the level outside the structure.

Depending on the degree of contamination (there are four levels of mold growth, and four levels of mold remediation), we may require a microbiologist to test the area and create a plan of action.

Follow the plan of action created by microbiologist, including coordinating repair of leak, extracting water, drying structure and removing and remediating the mold damage.
